Starting on a Mural "Vision of Gong"

Benalla Ceramic Mural - author: Lisa Baier

Last month I was travelling to Melbourne by car. I drove that far for the first time in my life. Attemps of driving from Venice (Italy) through Innsbruck (Austria) back to Fussen (Germany) in 2002 for few hours, trying to reach allowed 200km/h speed, do not count. I could not reach that speed even the car was ok and the roads are so fantastic.
Anyway in Australia I do not try to go so fast... Driving with the speed, that is allowed, even less, we were stoping here and there. After 3pm I was getting too tired. I said to kids, just a few kilometers after NSW/Victoria border,
- I need to stop, or I fall asleep...
There was that sign "Benalla exit 1km". I turned off the Hume Hwy and saw another sign "9km to Benalla". Kids screamed "that is 9 km off the road!". I went on. Petrol station. Asked "were is the park for kids to play?" "Nice park just on the right,"-reply was.
"here children, ice cream and you have to leave me for a 20min sleep", I said.

There it was on the right!!!!
Benalla Ceramic Mural. Some invisible force led me to this inspiring community project. Something like that I had plans for months ago and there it was. No sleep there. I did not need one. "This is what we were doing with children at two community centres and Art Arena Gallery! I could do it, I new it. I will do it! I will do it no matter if there is funding or not," I thought.

Good news, Wollongong City Council approved application for the grant for Market Street wall Mural - we have money to do 12 panels. It is not as big. Today I have started to make "melting clock" - homage to Dali and to symbolise the begining and flexibility of time.

Image attached is an inspiration that there is nothing impossible.

Benalla Ceramic Mural - thank you, Invisible Force, that you led me to the town I never heard of, in a country that I know just for 12 years.
